Biography

Kunzang Tshomo Dukpa is the Founder and Managing Partner of Bhutanese Legal Solutions. She advises Bhutanese and international businesses, investors and institutions on complex commercial, regulatory and dispute resolution matters. Her practice encompasses corporate and commercial law, foreign investment, commercial arbitration, legislative drafting and regulatory reform.

Prior to establishing Bhutanese Legal Solutions, Kunzang served as an Attorney with the Office of the Attorney General, where she advised government agencies on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters. This experience continues to inform her practical understanding of Bhutan’s legal and institutional framework, enabling her to assist clients in navigating complex legal and regulatory issues.

Kunzang has significant experience in commercial arbitration, acting both as counsel and as arbitrator. She has been appointed as sole arbitrator, party appointed arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in commercial disputes, and advises clients on arbitration agreements, arbitral proceedings and the enforcement of arbitral awards. Her practice includes both domestic and international commercial arbitration.

Legislative drafting and regulatory reform form an important part of Kunzang’s practice. She has advised on legislative and regulatory initiatives across a range of sectors, assisting public institutions and private clients in developing legal frameworks that are practical, effective and responsive to evolving policy and commercial needs.

Kunzang holds a Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School and a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She is committed to delivering clear, commercially focused legal advice that enables clients to make informed decisions with confidence.
